#yousoundfamiliar this experience really honed in the stubbornness and insistence GPT holds. Through this process, I noticed that GPT would sometimes try to insist on certain facts after I said that "hey actually, this is how it happened", and would twist the story another way to fit IT'S narrative

#realityhunger section 144’s first statement is something I wholeheartedly agree with. Truly engaging with people, convincing people, or attempting to convince people, it is very political bc regardless of whether it’s good or bad, there is intent.

#realityhunger section 134 I kinda disagree. The truth can be funny for sure, but sometimes the opposite is just as fun as well (at least when you are the fragor of such lies, perhaps not as much in being the receiving end of it)
February 14, 2026 at 8:37 PM
#realityhunger I also used to agree with the author’s past understanding of the gap between truth and fiction, which is that fiction has nothing to do with personal life. But how else can fiction be generated if not from personal experiences and realities? Therefore it must be rlly tied into reality

#realityhunger just like a general note but I wonder what made the auntie to choose this development of speaking about different mediums in this way? Like what made her decide to kick off about writing and literature, and move on to now music (page 46)?

#realityhunger I rlly like how chapter e kicks off with a very affirmative, confident statement and then proceeds to break it down by questioning the very root of i: “what is fact?” We consider fact as an undeniable truth, but what happens it it’s proven wrong? How does that shape our reality?

#realityhunger the section about collage in chapter b seems a little out of place and random. How does collage relate to genres in not sure, but perhaps it is in a way that collages are all about merging things together while genres act as boxes to separate and categorize? Idk for sure
February 14, 2026 at 8:25 PM
#realityhunger as per my previous post, it does make me wonder, however, just how definitive society is in categorising people and how literature is reflective of that. Can that be in some ways reinforcing whatever perceived notion of reality we have?
February 14, 2026 at 8:22 PM
#realityhunger this quote really ties into the overall book’s purpose of examining and questioning genre by proving an example of something that doesn’t fit the bill of staying within a single box. In many ways, literature is like people: u cannot define them in one single way
February 14, 2026 at 8:19 PM
#realityhunger I feel that I am philosophical as a person, but clearly not enough bc this statement confused me a lot. What is actuality in this case? Is it different from reality?
February 14, 2026 at 8:15 PM
#realityhunger I like the juxtaposition of section 21 and 22. Both talk about specific types of literature but it has a really good effect on the reader: like the former highlights these fascinating more happy adventures, the latter is depressing

#realityhunger I wonder if the reason why Plutarch’s book about Spartan women is itemized is bc it’s about women. Like in some ways I wonder how listing is gendered as well, esp in the importance of introducing to content of the book and providing instructions of how to read it?
February 14, 2026 at 8:09 PM
#realityhunger this is about the same quote I previously posted on page 9, but it really does make me wonder if realness and its perception are just forms of comfort for dealing with life in a way? Like having a concrete idea of reality makes it easier?
February 14, 2026 at 8:03 PM
#realityhunger this quote really put into perspective how flimsy this idea of reality and realness is to me. Like the fact that so many people just buy into religion without realizing what the quote is saying is interesting
February 14, 2026 at 8:02 PM
#realityhunger I’m curious as to where the auntie is going with this introduction about the origins of writing… esp in the context of genres and the development of them.
February 14, 2026 at 7:59 PM
#realityhunger kinda simple but i wonder why the author chose to use alphabet as chapter names and numbers in between the chapter? what exactly decides what splits the numbers apart from one another? like what decides each section?

#primarytakeaway I would say my primary takeaway for this in relation to SME 1 would be to really take this opportunity to experiment and get creative with prompting with AI, and to understand that it is still my ideas being involved with this, and is still my own work as well.

#joesopinion i think that joe thinks that co-thinking and co-creating with AI holds lots of benefits and has merit in the process. especially since with such a tool, there is a lot one can do with it and experiment.

#helpfulassistant i feel like it is helpful for us in 209 because it reminds us to be critical and discerning when using the results AI produces and ensure that it aligns well with with we want and not just what the AI thinks we want

#joeandashley the whole thing about Ursula was so fascinating in that it's sometimes such a humanistic response to lean towards the imitation of whatever is trying to avoid imitating versus accidentally leaning away from it when you're trying to imitate it.
February 9, 2026 at 4:12 AM
#joeandashley I actually thought the term "help assistant" wasn't that neutral a phrase. mainly bc the concept of a helpful assistant implies that it wants to help you achieve your goal, which, while ideal if you only want to get specific results, doesn't mean those results are correct.
February 9, 2026 at 4:05 AM
#joeandashley this really did kind of catch me off guard because while I am aware that of course, AI can get things wrong, the magnitude of it and frequency, especially with Google AI, really shows just how easy misinformation can spread, and that's scary.

#atmospherestudy I really like the idea of using background singing (like the female vocals in the beginning of the recording) to enhance a message or vibe of a work...I think that was super cool and initially doesn't make sense but later on does, which is the effect I hope to have.
February 9, 2026 at 3:50 AM
#atmospherestudy I think something the audio did was make me more aware and pay more attention to the background noise. Given that this is about ice cream, it makes sense that, to align with the peaceful, vibey sounds of the ocean, there were dishes clanking in the background as well.
