York looking lovely despite high river levels on Monday. But very much open for business as usual with lots of bustling going on.

Trees with autumnal colour line each river bank. And the sky is a lovely blue with some fluffy scattered clouds floating about. It all looks very peaceful.

Absolutely loved these tiles outside St Stephen’s Basilica in Budapest #TilesOnTuesday
A series of alternating circles with a central grey circle then a mix of lightly-coloured stone rings and ones with red tiles and lightly-coloured stone stars. Probably not technically tiles actually.

Waiting for the bus and the shimmering noise of the trees opposite and bird song is just lovely.

Came across this lovely knitted scene in the children’s corner of St Denys in York yesterday.
#AltText A small knitted version of the Last Supper. Unlike da Vinci’s version they stand on both sides of the table. All wear white headdresses and black or brown beards. One assumes that the figure in white in the middle of the far side is Jesus. The other figures wear smocks of red, green, blue and orange. Presumably the figure on the far left is Judas, as he appears to be placed on the edge of the group.

For #StandingStoneSunday, two of the Stones of Stenness in Orkney, one of my favourite places. 📷 my own
Two standing stones: one in the foreground is very tall and thin; the second one is shorter and fatter and looks as if it has been sheared off at the top slightly wonkily, perhaps by a giant. They are both very straight and angular. In the far distance is a white cottage with a red roof. The sky is gloriously blue with a couple of small fluffy clouds.

It doesn’t matter how many times I cross here but I do love this view of the Ouse from Naburn bridge on what is now the Solar System cycle route to Selby.
AltText. The very brown river Ouse takes up most of the image which is looking upstream towards York, not that you can see it. Green Trees and shrubbery are either side. There’s a mostly cloudy sky, but there is a patch of blue there. You can hardly see them, but there is a lone kayaker way upstream.

York Minster and its Chapter House looking good despite the grey sky.

A small pendant of a Viking’s carved by a Viking. His eyes and nose are three small holes. He has a pointed chin, hair that looks a bit like a cap and a very natty beard.

The influence of #CabinPressure continues to ripple around the world. Just come across this in Mick Herron’s London Rules. Same Mick, same.

York Minster looking good in the sun yesterday.
The medieval Minster takes up most of the picture. You can just see a little bit of scaffolding in the bottom right. The top third is a beautiful blue and sunny sky. It looks timeless and serene.

This was a visitor to Costa by me yesterday.

Happy #StDavidsDay all. It may be nippy but there’s a whiff of Spring in the air. Yesterday I saw hares dashing about the fields and bees buzzing in the sunshine. Lovely!
