I spent a decent portion of time on this because I have two glaive-users with a lot of page-time: Kotia and Phidene. That they're expected to be proficient with mounted polearm combat added a little extra difficulty, not to mention field experience and weight class (!) differences.

1) Looking up types of polearms and digging into how they were actually used in combat. This extended into fictional named 'forms', to inspire me in naming mine.

2) Enlisting the help of my fella and some broom handles. We paid particular attention to height and weight differences.

[2/2] This being said, I did get about 20k into Book 2, including flattening a couple of early hurdles. I'm also happy to say that it did at least get me thinking about the book again -- I find myself making notes more often on what I want to include/change/improve from the outline I started with!

That is a great question! I haven't drilled down into subspecies but y'know, I think I should! The default species in my head has something of a brioche about it (albeit, y'know, sturdy enough to be treeflesh) because frankly I love brioche.

The war began with the Tikkiss Skirmish in 986AC, and ended following Agüthsha-Títan's release of the Plague of the Bitter Hand at the peak of the Widow's Siege on the 33rd Day of the Season of Ripening, 989AC, and the Inebi Armistice that soon followed, thus lasting for three years.

The War of the Six, also called the Jewelfruit War or the Ikam War, was instigated by the Violet Accord and the Pact of the Blessèd as they sought control over the newly-discovered ikam fruit. The 'Six' refers to six Jal, or Generals, three on either side of the conflict.
