Working on time-varying functional connectivity methodology in fMRI @DondersInstitute
TRIFLE extends the Temporal Functional Modes framework (Smith et al., 2012) by capturing time-varying changes in spatial source allocation associated with various temporal functional modes.

Assessing spatial and temporal connectivity dynamics in fMRI is methodologically challenging due to the noise in both domains. Therefore, we propose that it can be described by fixed spatial and temporal components that interact via time-varying linear mixing.

TRIFLE is an ICA-based method for time-varying functional connectivity in fMRI that allows for spatial overlap — i.e., brain regions participating in multiple functional processes.
