Silly stories about aliens.

Waow im actually thinking about The Investigator again

Key to alien philosophy is that they will only ever directly target actively resisting military targets. Now, their definition of directly targeting and military are not human definitions...

Why did i decide to write a multibook epic of mankinds history after contacting extraterrestrial life as told through semi-ordinary people as my first major writing project?

Man idfk its probably a bad idea but im chipping away at it every day.

Its happening idk that i could stop it tbh

I want to talk about Drift so bad bc i think its an incredible story but i think i can only tell it right in actual writing
December 29, 2025 at 5:41 AM
I think ive decided to cut most of the last half of drift.

Theres a scene that is actually the perfect capstone to everything. Probably the last scene in the book tbh.

I might write the rest but just for me, I'll put it up as a separate entry, like a "if you want more: heres an extra epilogue.

The knee jerk would be to say the point of divergence in ToA is January 1st 2025 but actually its sometime in 2007 and i will not explain rn
December 26, 2025 at 3:08 PM
I want to nerd out but idk what about
December 26, 2025 at 3:05 PM
I think I've decided on the scale of the Temple being "across multiple locations but limited to Montana and Wyoming" mostly bc i think i want Kaia to start off in Billings and she needs to run into them
December 26, 2025 at 3:01 PM
Ive got music for each part/probably eventual novel if i stick with the format, but this would be spoiling the vibe shift which im happy to spoil the shit out of the first half of what im working on rn and the aliens generally here but mid/late game ToA I'm keeping close to my chest.
December 24, 2025 at 8:03 AM
One thing i like to do is find "theme songs" for various factions and storylines within ToA to help me get in the mood before working on them. Think like if it was a tv show the OP.

Theres still a few spaces ive got to fill out that ive been stuck on for a while
December 24, 2025 at 7:45 AM
I need like 3 friends who don't care about spoilers to infodump the fuck at
December 24, 2025 at 5:25 AM
Without giving too much away i love the planned tonal arc for ToA.
December 24, 2025 at 5:22 AM
Which brings us to the Brigade. On the surface, it seems like another vaguely right-wing militia out of montana with a strange obsession with the Temple.

Only their organization is actually a splinter off the Temple. People who heard the message, joined and got radicalized in the opposite way
December 23, 2025 at 9:02 AM
The Temple of Arrival is not actually a purely religious organization, especially post-disclosure. One of their two main recruitment methods is actually very secular. Perspective members are told the "Temple" is not a litteral religious organization, but a concept of reverence to mankind's "arrival"
December 23, 2025 at 8:54 AM
One of my favorite bits of ToA is the Temple is unhinged, violent, controlling, culty, and unfortunately basically exactly right on how we should be handling the situation.
December 23, 2025 at 8:32 AM
Wrote another few hundred words. Makes me happy im back to chipping away at this
December 23, 2025 at 8:10 AM
Actually loving Sadira's character im forming writing chapter 1. Tired, cautious, but refusing to stop pursuing the story. Willing to enjoy herself but not to get distracted. Viewing reality with detachment because she can't tell the story well if she's in it, but thats going to become impossible.
December 23, 2025 at 8:08 AM
Yknow i said it as a passing remark but the more i think about it the more i love the idea of the alien galactic "state" being something of an abstract concept.

There is no centralized authority, no meaningful communication on a galactic scale, just hundreds or thousands of dyson spheres that might
December 22, 2025 at 1:17 PM
I use it for the aliens instead of they because they dont only lack gender but also a concept of individuality. A single alien does not view itself as a person but as an organ of its pod, which itself is part of larger and larger organisms untill you get to the galactic whole which is very abstract
December 22, 2025 at 9:43 AM
I have this ambition to make each alien's communication have a different "voice", its all psychic, just images and thoughts but the method varies.

The One Who Comprehends is always a question, leading you to the answer.

The One Who Calms is gentle, like a slight trickle of water into your mind.
December 22, 2025 at 9:31 AM
So i think the first Alena section is going in as a prologue, then Sadira is chapter one, then Kaia then Elliot then back to Alena.

This order will vary as it goes but thats my order for rn
December 22, 2025 at 6:19 AM
So figuring its to be a long ass book, and I'll need at least 5 to tell the full plot how i want to tell it, plus novelletes like March's story and supplemental lore stuff

Yeah imma be at this a while
December 21, 2025 at 10:44 AM
Pondering integrating the Kaia series into ToA in novel form. More specifically a way to have some interesting things during the Quiet Months between arrival and NYC.

I'm thinking the temple isn't the national thing it is rn. No instead its some small niche cult in Montana. Too fringe for people
December 21, 2025 at 9:42 AM
I should rewrite the Investigator first but what i want to write is everything else
December 20, 2025 at 7:21 AM
So we have the main plot hooks for the story being

A journalist investigates a strange rivalry between a cult and a militia in montana that has been simmering for a decade

A woman discovers a comet heading suspiciously close to earth

A member of said cult prepares to talk with their gods
