A majority of Pittsburgh City Council & the mayor consider themselves “progressive.” However, they haven’t held any public meetings about this project.

Approving a public safety training center & not involving the community isn’t PROGRESSIVE!

History can’t erase the violence behind Thanksgiving. We stand with Indigenous communities to honor the millions of lives that were taken by genocide and colonization. #DayofMourning

Pittsburgh deserves investment not over-policing.

Our communities have said it again and again: we don’t want or need a local Cop City.

We want housing, youth programs, clean air, safe water, real opportunity — the things that ACTUALLY keep us safe.

Black people have always been environmentalists.
From gardens and canning to hunting practices that honored the whole animal — our families lived sustainability long before it became a buzzword. 🌱✊🏾

Environmental justice is tied to our health, our housing, our safety, and our legacy.

Self-care isn't just a moment, it's a movement. Black women, especially, need to prioritize rest to power through resistance. You can't pour from an empty cup. So pause, breathe, pray, meditate, love yourself. Rest is revolutionary.

How are you nurturing your soul today?

Cop City will not stop the violence. This year alone, McKeesport police have committed violence against community members with no accountability. It's time we stand up against Cop City!

When leaders design transportation routes, they're not thinking about the people.

When Black and Brown people are victims of pedestrian violence, the media doesn't cover their stories.

Many people in power don't see violence against us as violence.

The Mon Valley has been designated a "sacrifice zone" due to air and water pollution, lead exposure, and food insecurity. We refuse to accept this as our reality.
