when you work in tech you HAVE to be okay with working with other people first and foremost. Programming, networking and all that shit can be taught. You NEED to know how to work with other people on a team. If you have that synergy and lose it because of someone’s ego you can’t get that back.

It is also very clear to me that lessons were not learned here, and I am so sorry for the devs who left and had to deal with such a self centered individual who used their status as a founder to be forced back in. That alone should have been a red flag.

The absolute entitlement and TRIPLING DOWN on their stances because they didn’t get their way, loaded questions, trying to manipulate situations to be in their favor regardless of outcomes made my blood boil. At the heart was a lack of respect for the team.

Which is why it’s so important you listen to your team, you learn how to take criticism, and you find someone who is capable of a job you can’t do, ESPECIALLY if you’re bad at public relations. Positions of power are ALWAYS positions of service, especially when people look to you for guidance.

My biggest fear as a project lead is that I snuff out someone’s joy of creation or ambition to create. To fuck up SO BAD, someone loses their joy. No project is worth it if I ruin someone’s joy in the process. That’s exactly what happened with the devs that had to step away.

SAMMI is a streaming program that bridges twitch API and OBS that allows them to interact with eachother. It was a very useful tool until this all happened
