I would say it's less reality and a small, but rich group of assholes.

Nah, you're fine.

As a trans person who wishes she worked at the Onion, agree. Most people aren't aware of what's going on and when they get even the slightest amount of information, they recoil in horror.

Yes. The question is, and that says a lot about you, what kind of gun would you pick? An FN? An AK derivative? HK? AR? That's assuming you pick an automatic rifle and not, say, an M1 Garand :3

Honestly, the care and affection of queer people towards each other is something I have very rarely seen among cishet people. Especially trans folks, an not just with HRT, but... Everything. It speaks volumes of resilience.

Its me, I'm the tulpa, I'll be moving in with you shortly.

Born out of experiencing transition in a transphobic country that bans abortion (and my 'tism).
December 9, 2025 at 8:02 AM
My point is that DIY HRT isn't really that dangerous - certainly not on the level of back alley abortions or with coat hangers (which historically did happen, as I'm sure you know).

Secondly, I'd rather we were painted as determined, not desperate. Personal preference.
December 9, 2025 at 8:00 AM
And that's fair, though when you deal with that level of dishonesty, it's like playing chess with fish. For reaching the undecided? Comparing to back alley abortions (which historically were horribly dangerous) unnecessarily paints HRT as dangerous, which imo plays right into transphobic arguments.

I'm not even looking them up at the moment. :/

As I said, in a very broad lens yes, they are both about bodily autonomy. But for me the analogy really falls apart beyond that.
December 8, 2025 at 7:57 PM
I do believe that analogies should generally hold up without having to rely on the widest possible framing (especially when the legal ramifications are different, especially here in Poland, where abortion has been banned since 1993 and providing pills can get you arrested and sentenced).

*Her feelings. If you disagree, at least try not to use transphobic rhetorical tricks.

From the make believe post, probably whatever underpaid intern writes that has not exercised due diligence and just skimmed the headlines.

Consensus-based reality seems to be a thing around Conservatives.
December 8, 2025 at 6:39 PM
And I consider it to be a bullshit parallel for the reasons outlined.
December 8, 2025 at 5:18 PM
You're confusing ethics with the specifics of the procedure, in particular the duration. HRT is ongoing and DIY is fundamentally safe, both from a medical and legal standpoint; DIY abortions are safe in the first and likely second trimester, but you can't really DIY a late stage safely from both.
December 8, 2025 at 3:41 PM
Can we like, not do this comparison? Trans HRT is NOTHING like abortion.
December 8, 2025 at 2:29 PM
For example, by her position on women's suffrage? Like, are you actually familiar with her positions and writing or did you think "hey, cool name, let's use that"?
December 8, 2025 at 1:01 PM
I am terrified, but also morbidly curious. 🧐
December 8, 2025 at 12:03 PM
DIY HRT is perfectly safe - honestly, probably safer, since a lot of endocrinologists don't have the knowledge necessary to guide HRT as compared to the average trans woman.

The danger lies in stigmatizing body autonomy.
