Today's progress was MASSIVE!! Not only did I blow past 100 pages and 30,000 words, but I cleared the Act 2 speedbump I've been obsessing over getting right for almost a month. This vacation has been just what I needed!

Today's progress was MASSIVE!! Not only did I blow past 100 pages and 30,000 words, but I cleared the Act 2 speedbump I've been obsessing over getting right for almost a month. This vacation has been just what I needed!

Writing dreams is a curious experience. Even though the whole book is past tense, I feel oddly drawn to the present to establish a clear boundary between the two. I don't know if it will last, or survive the edit, but I hope so.

How are you supposed to know if a conversation lands with impact? If a scare works, if the reader is feeling what you're feeling as you write? I think that's what makes this tricky, writing is a conversation missing a second voice
