I forget where, but I read once that bad grammar in emails is a marker of status. VCs, CEOs, billionaires, etc. write terribly as a way to show they're rich and powerful enough not to have to care.
I think this is totally true, though I'm sure they're only aware of it subconsciously.

Landed 4 hours late and stuck on the tarmac on *arrival* because there are no free gates. Would have been faster to drive!
