I find I have to get the good ideas and the bad ideas out on paper to really see which is which. Otherwise I spend all my time in my head second guessing myself and not making progress.

I love that the PNW is getting some gothic love. The Hoh Rain Forest may not be the Appalachians but come on, that's still a spooky ass place - like Eldritch horror kind of spooky.
