as an artist myself I'm not really a big fan of using huge obvious watermarks because I think it takes away from the image, and artists' vision shouldn't be punished for people trying to take advantage of their work

but I can't really think of another deterrent against thieves as effective as that

unfortunately the person who got me this couldn't find the original listing when I asked them about it so I'm afraid I'm not sure what else can be done from my end, sorry that's not very helpful ;w; (the picture is of my collection, not from the listing)

There are genuine small artists from China who sell their work online through that sort of platform, but I suppose it's worth being more critical about potential art theft there...

I could feel my heart sink when the original artist's profile was recommended to me and I saw the art in the banner lol
