I see people throwing themselves in front of armored feds on the streets. People pushing to get close to Broadview ICE to stop the evil horrors inside & out. Regular people are throwing themselves into the path of danger daily & their reward is to have their health care taken away by rich cowards

Also, they were afraid that Trump would start being increasingly cruel and doing things like going to SCOTUS to stop SNAP.

This whole 「 I’m just doing it for the lulz 」 and 「 you’re being silly taking it seriously ! 」 is exactly how in my lifetime we went from Nazis being a universally derided punch-line to the wealthiest hoarder on the planet sig-heiling a president who kept a Hitler book on his bedside for years

The utopian SF that portrayed the future as full of leisure due to automation and technology was a LOT more socialist than was readily apparent at the time.

That's the only thing that's hampering a lot of my excitement for the holidays etc nearly 3 months of Christmas music everywhere
