Oh, I knew! I'm still in frustration and explaining mode from the day, but I didn't take it that way. I just wish I had some control over the schedule some days. Meetings on meetings are exhausting.

I feel ya. My project is on a tight timeline and not everyone understands the pressing nature, so yeah. That 3pm on Fri wouldn't have happened if I didn't have to expedite the process.

Lol, today was worse though. But at least the weak links were revealed. I won't say more than that.

You gotta do what you gotta do and give yourself grace when you can. You're carrying a lot.

Anyway, there's that good, old-time west Texas lore for you.

Apparently, my great aunt Leodis and great uncle Smokey lived there on the property for a time. There were def no baby caskets. When my aunt brought up the story to her aunt, she said "the spookiest thing that ever happened was when we forgot to close the gate and Jeanette fell down the stairs."

So one night around the mid 1960s, some of my aunt's friends convinced her to go, trying to spook her.

But when they got to the house that inspired the local urban legends, she was baffled bc it was just this old house on my grandpa's property. She was like, nah, y'all, I've been here.

What if we go rogue and make a cheesy mashed potato and gravy pie in a flaky, savory croissant crust.
