I think it’s just parsing definitions. For me, the fact that e33 was reminiscent of smrpg bc of timed hits is only a plus but by definition if it’s similar to something that already exists, it’s technically not that “revolutionary” and I assume people don’t want to dilute the term.

Listen I love e33 but when I saw people saying it revolutionized turn based rpgs all I could think about was “now you know about timed hits!” lmaoooo
