Why we planned our solar system to be as big as it is with 48kwh of battery storage. Initial design was off grid. But later grid connectivity was far cheaper than thought so we have a grid connection but don’t really need it to be self sufficient. And charge cars #solar #battery #energy

I spent a big part of my time at QF enacting modifications to the 747 fleet to ensure this doesn't happen after a crash in 1992 that saw 2 engines separate form a freighter. My main job is an aircraft structural engineer.

How much you you put in your petrol car tank knowing you had far cheaper fuel at home? Why recharging an Ev to full really doesn’t happen unless you can’t charge at home or in extreme remote areas.

Our setup being in rural area designed to operate off grid, $50k. 20Kw of ground mounted solar, 48Kwh Sigenergy battery, 2 x 10kw hybrid inverters and custom built gateway to allow for 20kw draw. Also grid connection 200mtrs from the property.

House usually draws between 800 and 1kw. (700 at moment) We are running servers 24/7 in air con room. Now it still foggy and making 1.8kw. So putting 1.1 back in battery. Pretty happy with that.

The 2026 KGM Musso EV is Australia’s first all-wheel-drive electric ute and it’s not from Toyota or Isuzu. It’s from KGM (the artist formerly known as SsangYong). 420km range, AWD, and a $60K price tag
It’s not a heavy-duty, but it’ll carry the Anaconda or BCF catalogue jsut fine. #EV #ute #tradie

Unfortunately this again appears to be disinformation initially spread by Trump.. the facts are, the image used was for a road built from 2012. Before the COP was even announced.

Zeekr confirms the updated 7X won’t reach Australia for at least 12–18 months.
The new China model brings: 900V motors, 103kWh battery, 10-minute fast charging, 802km range & up to 585kW AWD.
But Aussies buying now are guaranteed no spec changes until mid-2027.
