All of this was easy to predict when the anti-foundation stuff was happening. I was in full support of of distributing funds more equitably, but I felt there was no clear idea of what to replace it with. Now the rich schools have their own private orgs and still raise similar amounts as before.

This allows teams to own their own domains while allowing for change in the platform over time. It's not without its downsides though.
