yeah that part blows. certainly not like we have a shortage of combat-heavy tabletops out there, even if neopets has done it before. they probably chickened out on the mechanics not feeling familiar or interesting enough to hold attention, but now it's just going to compete with every other 5e hack

it being a 5e hack is lame and the pitched mechanics sounded more unique, but also neopets isn't inherently unsuitable for action/violence vs mundanity, given its long history with war plots, battledome, NQ, etc. beating up bandits in the woods is half of what you do earlygame in darkest faerie ps2.
