Thanksgiving -
Malcolm Guite

"Thanksgiving starts with thanks for mere survival,
Just to have made it through another year
With everyone still breathing. But we share
So much beyond the outer roads we travel;

Pouring rain on all the obscure musical acts and float handlers in the Macys Thanksgiving Day parade really turns the “dystopian drug trip” dial up to 100. 🙃🌧️☔️

Last week I found myself putting Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” on repeat blast mode, which is uncharacteristically early for me.
This explains why.
#ChristtheKingSunday
Is “Christ the King” outdated, authoritarian, patriarchal theology? Nope. It’s the opposite. King Jesus undermines the authoritarian & the patriarchal. King Jesus washes his disciples’ feet & teaches us not to Lord it over others, as the Gentiles do.

“Gray rock” the trolls. Especially trying to justify a different opinion to people who refuse to listen and learn.

Thinking further on this, ISTM that one step forward on this better way is how we respond to the Twitter trolls and bullies who will inevitably make their way here.

Loud “screenshot/block” bragging and noisy negative name dropping is the stale bread they feed on.

Starve them of it.
If we set this place up against the other one, we are only creating the same binary that ends in polarization again.

Maybe we can find a better way.

In this case, I cannot take credit for convincing her to join us, but I can tell you she’s here and that she’s amazing. Follow her.
OK, a line has been crossed. Many of my faves have left Twitter. I just served notice on Twitter that I'm off. (No doubt Musk is quaking in his boots.) I'm quite anxious about this because Twitter has meant so much to me and I have "met" so many people that I prize.

Word of this morning is ‘procaffeinate’: to put everything on hold until you’ve had sufficient amounts of coffee.

May my struggles keep me near the cross
And may my troubles show that I need God.

May my battles end the way they should
And may my bad days prove that God is good.

May my whole life prove that God is good.

So the sky here is so blue and the air is so clean and fresh. What are our thoughts about how to keep it that way?
Specifically - thoughts on muting all, and I mean ALL, political shenaniginsanity?
