I know nothing about Costa Rican labor laws, but they must have at least a few, and some government enforcement entity that this post seeking a literal slave can be reported to.

There was an established Sephardic community in NYC dating back to New Amsterdam. And one in Charleston. I highly doubt they were forefront in the founders’ minds when they were establishing the USA.

I’m deeply suspicious of these things. I think maby a few words are sounds that a cat’s brain can directly connect to their material conditions, but with the ones who have a huge keyboard, that it is more likely a Clever Hans situation.

There are almost certainly multiple copies in multiple hands. If they release a scrubbed (or otherwise altered) version, multiple someones are gonna know. I have to believe that someone out there will be able and willing to leak if/when they release the bullshit version.

Given that the current administration is too dumb to do something like a dye test, their eventual leaker might even sleep easier than Felt.

I think so, only because the lyrics are 100% kid-friendly, and a certain set of parents ca. 2012 would absolutely have played it for their kiddos. idk about “fondly” tho.

I actually have a bunch of backyard bamboo, and it really is a problem. If Lizza had written about his terrible relationship as a metaphor for his bamboo troubles, instead of the other way around, I might have sympathized.
