I personally like to combine the 3 together and transition from polymeric, to standard, to isometric on the same type of exercise. For example, jump squats, rest, air squat, rest, wall sit, cry.

This will prepare your body for all the physical scenarios you may encounter in life or a fight.

Lastly, isometric (holding) exercises help with endurance and maintaining positions. Luckily, sports science is finally coming around to recognizing their importance. Here is a routine that will give you an idea of the different types of isometric exercises and holding positions that are available

These variations are great for developing power, but they neglect the fast twitch muscles that are vital for fighting. Jump squats, jump lunges, and jump rope are some of my favorites. Here is a quick, 3 min routine that incorporates polymetric (explosive) exercises and also helps with cardio!

Slowly getting back at it. My week now looks like 3 days of Muay Thai, 5 days of strength training, one run, and 2 rest days. Gonna put on the muscle in the winter and focus on cardio in the spring.
