Has anyone else seen "September 5"? We were dissappointed. It's tough to tell a compelling story through the eyes of the storytellers, in this case the sports news team from ABC covering the 1972 Munich Olympics. "All the President's Men" was the best of the genre. Thoughts?

This mattress topper made me sick. I bought a new bed and this Iululu mattress topper for the Nook, and felt dizzy when I woke up after sleeping on it. Turns out the topper was "off-gassing" VOCs and other toxins. So, out with the garbage it goes.

Mmmm, grapefruit! Growing up, the only grapefruits around were the white kind. Then, along came those delicious pink and red grapefruits, which I ate for years. Then I began to crave the white ones and couldn't find any, until recently. I guess we always want The Other Kind.

I made this sign to hang outside my music room/home studio/alternate bedroom, which is located in the southeast corner of our house, down a hall that resembles a panhandle. It feels like a "nook."

Also, I don't own an ES-335 . . . yet.

I've owned many fine pencils in my day, but none so precious that I felt it necessary to store them under lock and key.

"A Face in the Crowd" (1957) is one of the most amazing films I've ever seen. A must-see study in the power of cinema to imitate -- and anticipate -- the influence of media in politics. Still relevant after 60-plus years.

When I first saw this cartoon many, many years ago, I laughed so hard I almost peed myself. I ran across it again a few days ago and thought: "Hmm. Cute." Getting older, I guess.

This beautiful drawing has been with me since my earliest memories as a child. Now it hangs just outside my music room, which I call "The Nook at Southeast." The Nook is in the southeast corner of my house.
