Ms. Walker, chorus teacher, was nominated as an Admirable Admiral for being a joyful, energetic, and kind teacher. She builds confidence, supports students , and creates a positive, encouraging community. Her talent, patience, and genuine care make chorus a place students feel at home.

Mr. Funk, 6th grade English teacher, was nominated as an Admirable Admiral for making English class fun, engaging, and laughter filled. He is calm, kind, and explains concepts clearly. His humor, trustworthiness, and creative strategies help students succeed and truly enjoy learning.

Ms. Ingram, 8th grade Science teacher, was nominated as an Admirable Admiral for being a kind, calm, and supportive teacher. She ensures students feels seen, heard, and cared for by building trust. She checks in, treats students equally, and works hard to help them learn, grow, and feel valued.

We're proud to say we did it again! Swanson has received the Purple Star Designation for the second time this year as recognized by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and the Virginia Council on the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children.
