Excellent find 👍🏻🙂

Yeah definitely looks a bit different but female dabblers do vary quite a bit. There’s been a really pale Teal knocking about for a few years now & I’ve seen really pale Shovelers too 👍🏻

Yeah, pure Pintail for me. Cheeks as dark as head in that pic. 👍🏻

I would say pure Pintail, just a rather pale individual. Unless, as you say a photo/light effect. 👍🏻

So in this weekly roundup you say that Dorset may not have to wait too long for its very 1st Black-faced Bunting but in the previous week’s roundup you literally report on Dorset’s very 1st Black-faced Bunting! 😂

We both took pics day 1. Mine were from when it was right by hide. Joe took last week’s pic when clearly a drake. Anyways, we aged 1998’s obvious escape as 1st w drake. It didn’t look dissimilar to present bird in Nov. But it was still moulting when last seen in January. So happy to go with adult 👍🏻

Swannery closed for the winter. View only from rights of way. Baikal Teal maybe viewable from tank teeth but there is no access beyond the fence there. Thank you.

Not ruling it out but just seems unreal to think that last Friday it had a female type head pattern with no apparent difference within the two weeks it’s been around but then within a week it looks this much like a drake! 🤯

All look good for Corn Buntings Steve.

Could this be the same bird that looked like a female when found on on the 14th October & still looked exactly the same a week ago on the 31st? Opinions welcome.

Please note… Swannery now closed, view only from public rights of way. There is no right of way SE of tank traps on Chesil Bank.
