The new TTC poles at intersections are on a different spacing. The situation varies elsewhere. Just this morning I saw TTC shifting span wires onto new hydro poles on Dundas east of Bathurst.

Average utilization is 31 percent according to tpa stats available on the open data site.

The design was ready to go but was killed at the last minute.

There will be more Dundas cars starting Sunday when they go to a 6 minute headway, but this is offset by the absence of King card thanks to construction. Bus congestion however is also a problem.

(2/2) There's a lot on Broadview just north of Queen that was to become a streetcar short turn loop. The TTC even bought a property nearby to replace lost capacity. The local BIA cried. No streetcar loop, but now there are two parking lots. Transit City? Bah! Humbug! www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...

For those awaiting the detailed spreadsheet of service designs, that has now been added to the article.

(3/3) PS for those readers awaiting my article on the November service changes, the fine details have not yet been released by TTC as of 9:50am Nov 14. Waiting on a press conference, I believe.

(2/2) This post also includes comparisons of service levels, travel time and speeds on streetcar routes, and asks whether ridership recovery is hampered by poor service.

I'm asked why I can't be nicer about my critiques of transit policy. Being nice gets you a pat on the head and little real progress.

There is also supposed to be funding for a pilot at Dundas/TMU in 26, assuming council approves it. This is sitting with the strategic planning committee as part of budget proposals.

According to the Sept major project update, peds are included for line 1 and enabling infrastructure will be provided on line 2, but this is in the unfunded part of the project. A report on this is due to the board in Q2 26. So design yes, build maybe.

I will check in the capital budget when it comes out in December. There are many shell games played with things like this.

PSDs are part of the reconstruction project for Bloor Stn with provision to add them in Yonge Stn when line 2 gets ATC.

(2/2) TTC is fond of blaming all its service problems on external effects, notably traffic, but service is irregular even on routes with reserved lanes. Traffic is an issue, but the claim of a 400% increase is a blatant distortion of their own data. stevemunro.ca/2025/11/04/t...

Does this make Trump an inmate of a common bawdy house?

(2/2) Feedback from riders and operators flags problems with crowding, reliability and poor public information, but there is little indication of how these will be addressed.
