basically look at this way. the housing bubble is the direct reason we have a housing shortage today and the affordability crisis this “ai bubble” is doing the same thing for energy production

all in all i don’t think that we should be assuming that the bubble economy is giving us an accurate forecast for how much compute will be necessary in the near future and an overbuilding of data centers will be very harmful to the electrical grid and economy of all those who rely on it

completely funded by a bubble economy there is no proof that this computing power is actually needed in the next 5-10 years and will actively harm the ability for large scale manufacturing and other energy intensive economies that have real world use cases to become outcompeted.

tbf deviance always has to be seen in relation to the parents of that generation. and by far the biggest deviance of our generation is the massive uptick in lgbt identifying people which isn’t really mentioned once.
