I binged all four released episodes of the last season of Stranger Things, and ep four brought tears to my eyes. I’m not sure how I’ll be able to wait for the next instalments. But the long delay was well worth it.

In an attempt to cheer me up, my friend reco’d the Danish Deception vlogs on TikTok. I find them more engaging than Prime movies, but wish the narrator (a Bachelor alum) was a bit less detail-oriented. I don’t need to know every word of every convo she had w/ the wretched f*ckboi who scammed her.

Update: I ate cake again for dinner - if you could call it that. A Rabba butchering of tiramisu with sweetened whipped cream instead of mascarpone and a layer of chocolate cake.

Under happier circumstances and bc of my medical history, I'm health-conscious to the point that I monitor every bite of food I eat like a hawk. But this past week, tragedy has compelled me to subsist on chips, cookies, & cake - barring film festival party grub & concerned friends force-feeding me.

A friend just passed away. I am driving myself mad combing through the digital breadcrumbs of our last interactions trying to find truth and a through-line amidst all this chaos.
I feel like I’m sleepwalking and keep wishing I’ll wake up from this nightmare.

I really want to dye my hair 80s fantasy movie heroine orange, but my hairdresser discourages it. (Because of the darkness of my natural colour, its propensity to go brassy, it will wind up fading, etc.) Maybe I should just get a cheap wig instead.

I’m not one of those weirdo self-hating desis who thinks it’s a flex when people assume I’m a different ethnicity. But I’ve weirdly been mistaken for everything but Punjabi for the past while. I have to wonder if it’s either the micro-bangs, the honey hair colour, or my tendency to wear hoodies.

I'm revisiting the 1991 TV version of Dark Shadows and it's shockingly good - shot on film with the perfect amount of camp. Ben Cross is delicious as vampire Barnabas Collins - it really is a shame he was typecast as "that guy from Chariots of Fire," and wasn't more famous for roles like these.

I opened my apartment door to find a very cute cat waiting outside. It was scared but gave my hand a snuzzle. I tried to coax it to the elevator to take it to the front desk but it wouldn't move. Thankfully someone in the elevator notified the concierge who then called the owner, & they retrieved it

My friend David was telling me about IT: Welcome to Derry. I've heard good things but accept the book as canon (except that one revolting scene we've all wiped from our minds). I didn't like the movie taking place in the 80s & not the 50s and don't know what to make of the show continuing the retcon
