A bit like Pete Best’s special ink, I’m sure. ;) You’re very welcome as always; enjoy the latest selection - a fine bunch it is too. I’m working on getting the richest of pickings from it up by the end of the week. I just didn’t want to miss getting an update out in November!

The end of 2002/beginning of 2003 was all about celebrating Digi's 10th anniversary. The Digigate war for its soul was won by @mrbiffo.bsky.social and its loyal fans just in time.

March 2003, two days before its final edition - oh yes, the Digi funnees are BACK

We already had the official start of Digigate in the archives, and now the circle is closed, because here comes the official end. Digi victorious - back to daily updates the next day, and its humour well and truly restored.

Had a similar experience in New York 15 years ago. About to fly home, had some small change to get rid of, so bought a pack of Hershey’s Kisses. Turned my stomach - I could not believe anyone would eat them as a treat.

Well, at least Digi will have thrown a syntactical spanner in the works. And!

That’s what I’m wondering, as they all seem to be in two cities, plus Singapore and a few in Japan. Very curious.

Cheers! I’m staggered, quite honestly. The archive opened with 17% and I never thought we’d even get half way, but then the floodgates opened. Very lucky about the older editions, especially as tape degradation is a factor. We’re in a race against time, but stuff from the 70s still gets found, so 🤞

Pleasure as ever, Treacle! I’m staggered at the amount we’ve unearthed, I never would’ve believed it when I launched the Vault. And we STILL don’t have the Sonic 3 review…(!)

And lastly, as we reach the 67% of Digi recovered mark, thanks to @andrewisaround.bsky.social we can see how the editions break down across its 10+ years on air.

More from today's batch - how do you think The Man would fare on Strictly...?

No problem Iain, I’ll keep my eyes peeled 👀
October 16, 2025 at 5:23 PM
Of course, and I’ll keep an eye out for any episodes on the tape labels and set them aside if I find any. I’m not sure the elderly chap who made the recordings would’ve been an Ali G fan, but you never know: ;)

I’ve got 2.5k tapes in storage for teletext recovery purposes, but the original owner mostly recorded stuff like Buffy, Eurotrash, C5 WWII docs, and, according to one label, a “Russ Meyer boob flick”. So it’s *possible* there are 11 O’Clock Shows… but I’m going to say unlikely. ;)

Crikey, seeing it in time lapse like that shows just how dramatic a decline it was. It’s a miracle he managed to get up again!
