Dear SHARPists attending the conference in Rochester in person: is anyone driving from Montréal or via Albany? Could I ride with you?

Dear @sharpweb.org, could you launch the Discord server so we could find such ride sharing or roommate opportunities?

Thank you for attending. #solidarity
Great session to end my #ACRL2025 conference. The mood was understandably down for a lot of the sessions and roundtables considering everything that's going on around the world impacting academic freedom, higher education and librarie. This presentation was a glimpse of collective power & hope.

For so long, whenever I would say I work in Florida, colleagues from blue states would feel sad for me. Well, welcome to my crazy world!

As if this day could not get any worse.
On Monday, March 31, 2025 we learned that DOGE is targeting the NEH with the aim of substantially reducing its staff, cutting the agency’s grant programs, and rescinding grants that have already been awarded.

Took part this week in a great (though sad) conversation with colleagues from all over the country around the purchase of books in the vernacular for our respective libraries. I am so lucky I get to buy books in their original languages, and not just prized books.
