Fuck ICE and everyone who supports them; _especially_ the entire Tяump admin. It’s not hypothetical: fascism is here in the US. And it happened just as every one of us said it would & we’re called alarmists.

The current U.S. regime is a danger to Europe and to the civilized world.
It will take decades to repair what reckless amateurs have destroyed in just months.
Americans—stand up and put an end to this disgraceful spectacle.

I actually did a New Year’s goal thing and wrote a blog post this evening! I wrote about some of the music, books, shows, and film I enjoyed in 2025.

I think the theme appears to have been: angry punk/ metal, escapist fantasy reading, and political allegory in film. I mean, I enjoy those things […]

The canceling of ICEBlock is more evidence, were any needed, that the Web is the platform of the future, the only platform without a controlling vendor. Anything controversial should be available through a pure browser interface.

If an FCC license requires strict adherence to a party line and to never criticize the government, then it wasn't worth having to begin with.

That's not a license, it's a leash.

It’s a day of remembrance & grieving of course, from yesterday’s shootings to events two dozen years ago. But I also just wanted to acknowledge that I’m remembering my friend, Scott, who passed away a year ago today. He was smart, creative, and hilarious and I miss him. Thinking about his widow […]

This took a lot of effort to overcome my perpetual imposter syndrome, but I wanted to make a comment in support of updating XSLT support in browsers. I figure 18 years working with XML and HTML gives me at least some reasonable experience worth sharing. #xslt #xml #whatwg […]

Celebrating the birth of our nation feels off this year. Congress just passed a bill that will do generational-scale harm to the country and its people. Our form of government has always been an experiment; it just feels that the experiment was left unattended by the adults & is now spiraling […]

Happy Juneteenth! I hope this a wonderful day for all those individuals, families, and communities who celebrate the freeing of the last enslaved people in the US. And hopefully we can all reflect some on what that history means to us and how we can continue to work for justice. #juneteenth

I know this may sound odd, but an American Pope who is said to be someone who will continue Pope Francis’s direction is possibly the best thing for America on the global right now. Mind you, I’m not Catholic. But Francis was standing up to Trump & facism and I hope Leo XIV continues to do the […]

If you haven't read Martha Wells' Murderbot Diaries series, I don't know what you've been up to the past few years. But if you have, then you're probably just as excited about the series next month. The trailer looks amazing and remarkably faithful to the books. I was so happy to see The Rise & […]
