Not to say that you should give no thought to your audience, but that if that’s your only focus, then you miss out on a lot of the joy of making art.

For me, it’s created a perspective shift that made me much less of a perfectionist and more focused on art as an ongoing project of developing skill and self expression than needing to make something perfect for an imagined audience whose reactions you can’t know

This is an attitude that can give you a sense of pressure that hinders the process of making art.

Instead, try and focus on the joy of creating without being as worried about if it’s “a masterpiece” or “good enough”

When possible, try to focus on how it feels to realize your ideas in your art.

And as I've explained the concept to people, I've seen others connect with the term too. I mean, I'm sure someone else has come up with an equivalent concept, but it's been interesting to see personally.

I'm a slut for intimacy and intimately connecting with people, and sex is one form of that, but it's not exclusive TO sex. It also applies to other forms of people I care about being authentic and sharing themselves in a way that feels special.
