I went to the gym with my two coworkers and the burn feels so good.
I went with my wife when we first got married, but it was hard to keep it up. I'm hoping with these two coworkers that they'll help me keep momentum, and help me push through with determination until I am habitually going.

I work hard on my books and their covers and they may not be perfect but I made them and I am a proud AI hater
I actively vet every book cover I see that looks sus. I will block a motherfucker for using AI and you should too

I will never use AI for my covers, editing, translation, or anything else. It is not only useless to me as an author, it is actively hostile and harms every skill related to book production.
If you're an author against AI used to generate writing, you better back everyone else in the chain too.

One of the small victories I celebrate is finding cool art on pinterest and then linking the source to it.

one of my favorite tropes is "inconspicuous person is way stronger than they seem" but it's usually in a magic kind of way, if they're strong in the normal way then I make sure to describe that they're hella ripped or shredded or built like a bear etc

I suspect that the techbros who read the SFF stories about robots rebelling decided that the moral of the story was "design them so they won't" and they think that's actually possible and desirable.
side point but the idea that if you make a human grade robot intellect it will do whatever you say without protest seems underexamined
Even if you were willing to buy that an LLM/Gen AI tool has human-like intellect, you’re still left with the fact that an LLM doesn’t NEED a job to remain alive under capitalism, but a human does.
morality-wise, surely many would agree that humans should thus be given priority for jobs due to need
