In all fairness, this interpretation is too funny to be mad at.

The cynical spark of rage in me knows the reason these people want to shut down immigration so badly is so they have a captured workforce with nowhere else to turn to for better options, rights, conditions, or dignity.

Fascists see people as livestock. It's utterly dehumanizing and dangerous.

The more I think about how much the far right are trying to takeover tech— how successful its destabilizing of Western government has been— I think the ban is an imperfect attempt to bandage the wound that has the USA in a terminal decline.

Then wonder why, a decade later, everything is starting to fall apart at the seams, why no one wants to come, and why their undervaluing or push to disincentivise the arts, their largest degree sign up, backfired.

Education cannot prioritize the profit motive because each department is important in its own way. However, under Capitalist leadership arts funding is always the first thing scrapped and they just replace the staff they cut with contractors that know nothing about any of the departments.

I work at a uni and most problems can be tracked to deregulation. Uneven distribution of resources, the gutting of staff which accompanies a loss in skills and a brain drain. Strangling the arts (our music school used to be world renowned, it's unrecognizable now) always leads to low applications.

I'm still waiting for people to realize that scoffing at romance— the genre that prioritizes emotional journeys and intelligence, internal struggles, unapologetic sex and unselfish sexual partners— is pure misogyny.

Education on sex, consent, emotional regulation, and respectful relationships has proved over and over to lower CSA and IPV. Moreso if parents are also being educated too.

Solving the problem requires realistic understanding of the problem and a game plan.

CSA is overwhelmingly inflicted on children within the family unit or inner circle (88%) and hardly ever reported to the police (84% of women, 99% of men— geez that stat was grim to read).

Cutting off access to online communities can lead to cutting off access to resources and support for kids.

The thing about the far right obsession with smashing human rights protection to dust is that those erosions are not going to stop at people they don't like.

You, poor fool, are nothing but a resource to the people like Gina Rinehart and Donald Trump and Peter Thiel too.

For the life of me I will never understand those who see Price, Hanson, and Hastie in #auspol cozy up to Gina Rinehart, Trump, and Tony Abbott (admirer of Putin's tactics), who are obviously working at the behest of Big Business and think, "Yes, these people absolutely have my interests at heart."

Anything that leads to self-actualizing is ruthlessly repressed because he wants malleable, isolated isolationists, and baby makers for the state.

This is why fascism often goes hand in hand with religious fundamentalism. It's useful at breaking apart critical thinking.

Watching the Aus right wing party collapse under its own hubris has taught me there was a point where Capitalists stopped believing in free market altogether (if they ever did).

They're all of the Eduard Bernays school now and when the PR and propaganda doesn't work they become wide-eyed and lost.

The biggest investor in the anti-trans movement is the fossil fuel industry: atmos.earth/political-la...

It benefits from the distraction from climate change, and also just social disunity altogether. Solving climate change will require people over profit thinking and global unity. It'll end them.
Fossil Fuel Billionaires Are Bankrolling the Anti-Trans Movement | Atmos
An investigation shared exclusively with Atmos finds that 80% of anti-trans organizations receive fossil fuel funding.
