Byzantine era floor mosaic discovered in 2022 by Palestinian farmer Salman al-Nabahin at the Bureij refugee camp, Gaza. Dated to 5th - 7th century CE. Mosaic contains numerous geometric patterned panels depicting various animals. Mosaic also features a vine leaf border. #MosaicMonday

Remains of the Roman hippodrome of Tyre, Lebanon. The seating section, starting blocks, turning posts, and median strip with an obelisk are all still visible. Built in the second century CE, it measured 480m×160m and had a capacity of around 30000 spectators. #RomanSiteSaturday #AncientBlueSky

Fragments of a painted wall at the archaeological site of Kemune, which emerged from the Mosul Dam, Iraq, after severe droughts. The Roman built Frontinus Gate and main street of Hierapolis, Turkey. Hierapolis is the site of a much earlier Phrygian settlement and later a Greek city. The city was home to the first known water powered saw mill. City was also known for its hot springs and wool production. #RomanSiteSaturday 🏺
