Our final word: A season that started under embargo with ownership in flux; a mid-season flirt with relegation; sneaking into the top 7 = just short of promotion after three ETs in front of nearly 30k Shrimpers. Disappointed? Of course. Proud? Damn right we are... #SUFCexiles
Our final word: There are better sides than Blues in the NL right now, but Tamworth isn't one of them. Southend cannot afford to under perform if they are to have any hope of remaining in touch with the current top 6. Maher's men look set for another scrap for 7th... #SUFCexiles

Gubbins Watch: Parillon and Walker combined to set up Coker to sweep home an early equaliser. With Blues looking more likely, Goodliffe had a shout for a penalty turned away before a low Lambs second. Spasov, Austin & Bridge were all unable to level up. Defeat 2-1... #SUFCexiles
December 20, 2025 at 7:26 PM
Gubbins Watch: Tamworth's long throw threat was to the fore early and Collin spilled the third one for a tap in. That knocked Blues composure for a time and buoyed the hosts. Collin tipped another effort over to keep the HT deficit at one. Improvements needed... #SUFCexiles

Gubbins Watch: Boyes and Morton start for Blues today. Bridge and Miley miss out... #SUFCexiles

Despite a dip in league form, Tamworth remain safe in mid table. However the Lambs remain dangerous and are still going well in both Trophy & NL Cup, most recently turning over Man Utd U21s on the astroturf at home in the latter. Can Blues get a first win there today? #SUFCexiles

Three weeks after Blues last completed an NL fixture, Shrimpers must wait a few hours more for Maher's men to run out at teatime. Southend successfully leant on their squad depth in the Trophy last Saturday and may need to again today as injury niggles persist... #SUFCexiles

December 15, 2025 at 5:06 PM
Southend's last 32 FA Trophy opponent will be revealed on Talk Sport 2 after 5pm this afternoon. Blues are ball 28 and ties are scheduled for 10 January... Who do you want Shrimpers? #SUFCexiles

Our final word: Serene progress to R4 for Southend who were too good for Truro. Valuable game time for the likes of Collin, Cardwell, Parillon, Walker & Bridge provides Maher with options ahead of the festive period. Kendall's welcome return adds further firepower... #SUFCexiles
December 13, 2025 at 9:37 PM
Gubbins Watch: Bridge set up Walker to head home a third after the break and Jack then found the net himself with a deflected effort. Southend cruise to victory and into the 4th Round. 4-0! 💙👏👍⚽⚽⚽⚽🥅💪👏💙 #SUFCexiles

Gubbins Watch: Southend had the better of the opening exchanges but without creating against a Truro side happy to soak up the pressure. Coker and Austin combined to set up Cardwell for the opener before Bridge struck from distance. Blues on top. 2-0 at HT.. #SUFCexiles
December 13, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Gubbins Watch: Blues make changes but Collin continues in goal and Cards up top... #SUFCexiles
December 13, 2025 at 2:18 PM
A durable Truro made life difficult for Southend on Cornish turf in August but the Tinners have been unable to build on that promise & remain rooted to the foot of the NL. Freed from relegation worries today could they again prove tough to beat in Essex in the Trophy? #SUFCexiles

After another frustrating trip to Rochdale, Maher's men return to action in the FA Trophy. With NL sides entering the competition at the third round, a home debut this season gives the Roots Hall faithful the opportunity to roar Blues towards the last 32 again... #SUFCexiles
December 13, 2025 at 9:45 AM
Our final word: The weather won at Spotland again. Blues handled conditions and the opposition well until Collin lost control of the wet ball that brought Dale level. The contest became farcical and the referee eventually took the only viable course of action... 🙄 #SUFCexiles
December 6, 2025 at 7:01 PM
Gubbins Watch: With bad conditions worsening, Collin's error gifted an equaliser and the hosts struck the bar with Blues reeling. With 15 to play GSM's back pass stopped on the sodden surface for Dale's second before the game was stopped & eventually called off... A-A #SUFCexiles
December 6, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Gubbins Watch: Blues press yielded immediate results with Southend feeding the ball to Boyes to cross for Coker to sweep home early. Dale fired narrowly wide mid way through the half but GSM forced a save from a Boyes corner as Blues finished strongly. 1-0 up at HT... #SUFCexiles
December 6, 2025 at 3:48 PM
Gubbins Watch: Cardwell marks his return with a start but, just as important, Slavi is fit to go, Taylor returns from suspension, Collin gets the nod between the sticks and Kendall makes the bench... #SUFCexiles
December 6, 2025 at 2:04 PM
Called off once, Blues trip to leaders Rochdale should proceed, the hosts having taken drastic measures to protect the playing surface which will be relaid after the game. Despite the issues, Dale have lost just one at home. Another would be a huge result for Blues... #SUFCexiles

Hampered by injury & illness, Maher's men were boosted this week with news of two Harrys: Cardwell's inevitable
RH return & Taylor from suspension. But Southend are still searching for the statement win to convince doubters that Blues are still in the title race... #SUFCexiles
December 6, 2025 at 9:45 AM
Our final word: Under the cosh at HT, Southend responded with the first blow, Spasov showing once more that he carries a poachers threat. But Maher's men found FGR's response too hot to handle. Taylor will return but Dallas may be out and Blues remain off the pace... #SUFCexiles
November 29, 2025 at 8:11 PM
Gubbins Watch: Better control from Southend but Dallas limped off. GSM curled towards goal and Spasov finished at close range. Slavi almost got another on the break but the hosts quality led to an equaliser and a quick second from distance in minutes. Blues lose 2-1. #SUFCexiles
November 29, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Gubbins Watch: Austin's early sighter flashed over. Hayes made two saves mid way through the half. After 40mins FGR headed against the bar with Blues stranded & Hayes was forced into more saves before Coker shot wide. The hosts having much the better of it. 0-0 at HT. #SUFCexiles
November 29, 2025 at 3:53 PM
