It's nice of Cineplex to remind me of my excellent taste in film by sending me a year-end roundup of ticket purchases at their particular establishments.

Dec 6 1989, the École Polytechnique massacre. I remember the shock. It's still a shocking tragedy 36 years later.

When conservationists tracking the endangered Vancouver Island marmot checked their wildlife cameras this fall, they did double, and even triple takes at the numbers they were seeing.

at church today the children's story involved the teller showing kids a plushy toy mouse & asking about dreams --what makes for good dreams? bad dreams?

Once again, I am disconcerted to be in complete agreement with a pope. The magnificent Diane Keaton in Shoot the Moon (1982). This portrayal of divorce scorched me on first viewing, so I avoided rewatching. Managed it tonight. Only Baumbach's Marriage Story comes close to this beautiful devastation. If It had more viewers, possibly no one would ever marry. But wow.
