Tbh, that’s how I paid for my windows. You just have to make sure that you do repay within the 0% period, or they really hammer you.

I enjoy them until they stop looking good and then I rake them up and store them in bags for the next batch of leaf mould.

Old age is coming for me now, and weirdly, I have a sense of guilt, as though if I’d looked after myself better I could have avoided it. Daft, but that’s what the culture inculcates in us.

It’s almost as if there’s some collective colonial guilt there. As when Hollywood aliens turn up out of nowhere to enslave and destroy us.

I would never have one of those elf things because I can’t shake the thought that I’d wake up in the morning and find that it had moved … and I’d know it wasn’t me ….
