Yes - no-one switches on their kettle and says 'I'm not putting any of that solar powered electricity in my kettle- I prefer the coal-fired stuff. Makes the tea taste so much better.'

I really don't get it. The Chancellor decides the budget based on a plethora of data, driven by what they want to achieve and shaped by politics. It's up to her what she does with all of that. Why the furore - have some rich people lost a pile of money gambling on an outcome that didn't happen?

I really don't understand the ongoing fuss. The Chancellor receives lots of information from a variety of sources. The budget is based on this plethora of information, directed by what they want to achieve and shaped by the constraints of the manifesto and the politics of the day.
