Not arguing that, but locals do have legitimate grievances.

students returning to campus from the downtown bars; students leaving rental properties trashed. UMass gave lip service to policies prohibiting such behavior, but rarely did anything to stop it in my day ('80s/'90s). It's left a ton of residual resentment against the UMass student body by locals.

Growing up in Amherst and then attending UMass, gives me a different perspective. There have been many, many occasions when students have caused real mayhem in Amherst, with little to no pushback from the university admin. Huge, destructive, even violent block parties; vandalism and noise from

No, but Congressional Republicans might be more inclined to buck him. He doesn't command the same blind loyalty that Trump does.

There's a palm tree near my house that for a couple of years hosted an owl pair raising owlets. It was super fun watching them grow.
Then the city cut back the portion of the tree that formed the natural next...

Empty containers and junk loot. Seriously, please don't make me search a room full of boxes to find the one that has an item worth keeping. Total waste of time and an interruption of the narrative flow.

Man, I could write essays about why his stuff is so realistic, but the tldr is a combination of lighting and certain details. He expertly replicates the washed out light of an overcast day, with the white sky and lack of shadows. Details like the visible small branches on the trees and

Honestly, I'd never have noticed if you hadn't called attention to it.
My proof-reading skills are so atrophied.

It's not working fine. It's been relentlessly sabotaged since Trump I. Half my packages get within 10 miles of me (in CA), then go haring across the map to North Carolina or Hawaii.
Thank the gods that it hasn't happened for anything actually time sensitive yet!

Eh. Not atypical for the late-pre-Amtrak era or the early Amtrak era.
