There's 2 things about CC that resonated with me.
First, it's not just another story about society being shallow and judging people who look/are different as monsters.
That's part of it, sure... but Gunn goes the extra mile of tying that to real societal issues.
I haven't seen that done before.

I hear some FMA fans say the '03 anime is better because it's darker and has more of a Seinen tone rather than a Shonen one.
Guys... The Shonen tone is the point, lol. FMA is about optimism and unity despite its dark beginning. The '03 ending being so dark doesn't work as well.
