So far, christmas has been great. No real family drama. My niece complained about her boyfriend inviting his best friend for New Year's, though. The reason my niece does not like her: She is not a lesbian, so she could fall in love with her boyfriend at any time... 🫥

By pure chance I'm now a private tutor for a cuple of biology students that attend a physics for biologist lecture. The funny bit: The leader of my research group holds said lecture. I think this is this trickle down economics people talk about.

We got promised left over food, thus we came to the room. While there is food, there's also a professor giving a speech to some new students and we have to wait until he's done with his speech. It's almost half an hour now. I feel tricked. And hungry. Mostly hungry.

So I got a scam SMS that my Coinbase account has been compromised. I don't use coinbase. I tried to contact them to inform them about the issue but you can't contact them without an account 🫥

I ran into a xenophobic shop owner. He literally exploded when I asked him if he speaks English. I didn't understand most of it but I could make out that he doesn't have to speak English as a portugese in Portugal. The best part: He runs one of those tourist shops where you buy cards and souvenirs 🫥

We drove by McDonalds the other day and my supervisor and the Ph.D. student I work with talked about how bad it is for your health and thst they never go there. Of course I agreed. But on an unrelated note, did you know that the portugese Big Tasty comes with two patties and bacon on the bun?

Todas we redid the experiment and we couldn't reproduce yesterdays results. But we learned a valuable lesson. Everything works better if you insert the sample with the correct orientation and not the wrong way around 🤷♂️

So everything worked in the end! I'll post some pictures of the results and go into more detail about what I done once the paper I in review. @serenial.io thank you for your help 😃

I'm a bit stumped by this, as is always the case when I'm doing something in LabView. My main problem is with the while loop in the upper sequence. The wanted behaviour is that the nested sequenze waits for the loop to finish which is polling the TMCM if the endswitches have been reached.

So I ran into some kind of student party this evening and now I only have one burning question: Why didn't we also get to wear black robes like the Portuguese students?

I had an appointment with our company doctor today regarding the buissness trip. Standard procedure she took a look at my vaccinations, took some bloodsamples and also did a vision test. Apperantly I have perfect vision on both eyes. Which is weird because I ware glasses. 🤷
