Stargazing vet from the dark satanic North. Once hit the stumps from the boundary aged 11, all down hill since then. #OneHealth 🇬🇧🇦🇺🇪🇺
The main democracy in HK article is worth a look, aside from the ‘94 reforms.

It’s a long and complex story but essentially Chris Pattern set up the pre-handover HK democratic model from about 1992 when he became colonial governor. The first and only colonial period election of the legislative council was in 1995.

I have tickets for this next month (family tradition to have a bit of pre-Christmas theatre action) so it’s very encouraging to hear you of all people sing its praises!

I was unexpectedly hit in the feels by the former space station cmdr Terry Virts describing the breakdown between the US and Russia. For most of my life the ISS has been such an inspiration, a symbol of progress, exploration & international co-operation. It will be a sad day when it's deorbited.

Kevin Fong (the original 13 minutes narrator) also told the Shuttle story in his podcast 16 Sunsets. For some reason the BBC didn't want to go the whole hog with this one, so they funded it on Kickstarter.

I feel similarly, but this was always going to be the case with city-based franchises. It's no less silly than expecting people in Somerset and Gloucestershire to follow a team called Welsh Fire.

I quite like Guenther, but I imagine Ron would tell the story quite differently.

Picard is the leader you call when you want a plan to work. He has badmirals, diplomats & omnipotents rethinking their life choices. He breaks hostile aliens with a speech, outmanoeuvres schemers without breaking sweat, delivers clarity while sipping tea. Picard is precision, principle & presence.

I’d settle for them for getting the direction of information transfer in up- & down- loading correct.

I agree with the sentiment, but if iPads essentially cost nothing, were indestructible, required no admin (like charging) and were as readily available as a5 jotter pads you’d probably collect a stash of them 🥳
