Love to hear it! I'm the same way. I even painted up my LI Astartes as my 40k chapter. It's close enough to Dark Angels to get away with it.

Also might be because I decided to paint the Confederates with a hodgepodge of uniforms like a lunatic.

I tried painting some of their ACW stuff. While I'm proud of what I did paint, I decided I just couldn't paint enough figures at that scale for a reasonably-sized engagement.
Plus the smallest "learning scenario" in the booklet called for two starter sets' worth of models.
