Why would you need an age assurance solution for access to a bible? Especially as there isn't any for Quran.com or other online bibles?

You could go and look it up in Mr Google. "Protect kids" is not the only reason to require id verification.

The people hurt by the Tea data leak believed their data wouldn't be held as well
August 4, 2025 at 8:00 AM
tea.
July 26, 2025 at 4:40 PM
You hope the data are deleted. Apparently people who are terrified that children might be shown violent porn by bad actors are convinced the sane bad actors won't abuse the valuable data being offered to them.
July 26, 2025 at 4:39 PM
"Protect the children" really does do a good job of suppressing any concerns.
July 25, 2025 at 10:53 AM
So we must protect 16 year olds from seeing naked bodies or discussions about beer, but they should be allowed to vote. Slightly odd?
July 25, 2025 at 10:30 AM
We should be worried about ID theft. We should be worried about the potential for blackmail from data leaks. We should be worried about the ease with which this can extend to blocking or monitoring any content deemed "harmful" by our authoritarian leaders.
July 25, 2025 at 10:27 AM
To protect the children from things their parents should protect them from.
July 25, 2025 at 10:24 AM
Not so minor when the poorly regulated age id company has a data leak.
July 25, 2025 at 10:21 AM
First, why should adults who want to visit a forum about beer, or about gun collecting as a hobby, need to risk data breaches because some parents can't be bothered? Second, do you really think this will stop motivated teens seeking porn? Finally, no porn till 18, but voting at 16. WTF?
July 25, 2025 at 10:21 AM
Are you claiming such gangs don't exist? If you are, surely collecting ethnicity data would be the best way to prove it?
June 16, 2025 at 3:41 PM
Actually they've "created a job" of cheek swabber. Not noticeably worse than "watcher of peeing into bottle".
May 31, 2025 at 8:11 AM
The existence of DSD is exactly why this screening is needed.
May 31, 2025 at 8:06 AM
Anyone participating in high level sport has already signed up to pee into a bottle, on demand, in the presence of a random stranger. I'd really take some convincing that undergoing one cheek swab is somehow worse.
May 31, 2025 at 8:04 AM
Oh, you just don't believe in fair competition. Ok, bye.
May 31, 2025 at 7:29 AM
Why? I can understand being opposed to screening only Khelif, but why is screening every competitor a problem for you?
May 31, 2025 at 7:28 AM
What the article actually makes clear is that sex screening is now mandatory for all competitors in the female category.
May 31, 2025 at 7:26 AM
I think they've decided to introduce the same mandatory sex screening as World Athletics. Do you still have a problem with that?

If NI is actually just part of general taxation is has rather a lot to do with it. They'll still be using other non-health services
May 6, 2025 at 6:09 PM
So have we decided this week that pensions are a result of a person's lifetime contributions? I thought we decided the opposite last week?
May 6, 2025 at 5:52 PM
That would be a fine argument if NI were actually paying for long term benefits. Apparently on this occasion it is, but when the government deems it convenient, it is just part of general taxation.
May 6, 2025 at 5:49 PM
Or long term, as the case may be!
May 6, 2025 at 5:47 PM
Economic modelling, also known as a mix of guessing and regurgitating assumptions. Meanwhile we don't need modelling to tell us we are foregoing NI contributions from Indian workers transferred here.
May 6, 2025 at 5:16 PM
Wow, like isn't it great that Indians working here will get three years holiday from paying NI.
