"--the singular obsessions endlessly revisited."

i have a lot of obsessions and theyre what keep me going in college. i feel like if i fail college i wont be able to have those obsessions and that makes me sad :( #realityhunger

"you don't make art; you find it."

this is true for the most part. there's a lot of times where i start working on something and change it a bunch of times from my original vision. there is something fun about the art process with that though #realityhunger

"the novel is dead. long live the antinovel, built from scraps."

idk why but this reminds me of our environment vs antienvironment talks from the past :0 #realityhunger

"art is theft."

crazy wording and i kinda hate this ideology but i will say that its a definitely a hot topic with the way "ai-art" is emerging...that in itself is theft. human made art isnt theft imo but maybe theres argument for this #realityhunger

"we are now, officially, lost."

also a thought i have a lot. sometimes i wonder if what i am doing is the right choice. most times its yes and a lot of the time its no. in the end we cant change what we've done, only move on. #realityhunger

"memory loves to go hunting in the dark"

my mind during an exam #realityhunger

"reality takes shape in memory alone"

scarily enough yes. if my memory recalls a fact, it might as well be true to reality. though this can also be challenged i believe. if your memory is altered in some way then wouldnt that shift reality? #realityhunger

seems like the person has a hard time writing fiction. def differs from person to person but i personally love fiction writing #realityhunger

ngl im enjoying reading this one more than the medium is the massage lol #realityhunger

this. memory is VERY selective. we typically only remember things that strike us and anything else goes in one ear and out the other. when we tell someone else a story, we know what is true and false, but they dont. how could they? #realityhunger

"identity has always been a fragile phenomenon"

i actually went over this a bit when we did our SME 1. questioning ur identity is normal i think. we might have one identity one day and another the next. #realityhunger

a lot of this reading seems to stem from can we actually believe in whats true when everything that is truth eventually becomes fabricated. i think this part sums up what ive seen for the most part with how facts as we know it constantly change. truth is questionable. #realityhunger

"today the most compelling creative energies seem directed at nonfiction"

maybe for other people but not me! i enjoy my works of fiction and making works of fiction #realityhunger #artsy

"truth, uncompromisingly told, will always have its ragged edges."

said this before but the truth will always have some lie to it. once something is said as truth, it turns into 99.9% truth and .1% lie which then becomes larger until the truth is truly unknown. scary. #realityhunger

"at the very deepest level, all our secrets are the same"

interesting, if my secret is the same as everyone else's i think that'd be a little scary LOL #realityhunger
February 15, 2026 at 6:06 AM
"the life span of a fact is shrinking"

very true. one second the truth is 100% true and the next second that same truth is fabricated into a lie that is 99.9% truth.

#realityhunger interesting concept. with the attention span that people have nowadays, i think any book might be too slow compared to doomscrolling but im interested where this concept goes

#realityhunger i see freud's name and shivers go down my spine LOL (coming from a hr psych double major) -- though i have to note the interesting take on narratives, poetry, and art as a general in the abstract sense. makes me question originality vs reinterpretation vs human experience

#realityhunger i actually brought this point up to a priest one time. we had a pretty long talk (like 30min conversation) regarding the validity of the gospels. it kinda ended in a neutral and he offered me pizza since it was around lunch time lol

#realityhunger just learned the word aphorism -- i think its an interesting word but i dont think i'd ever use it in actual contexts...

#yousoundfamiliar that was definitely an experience going down memory lane. ended up going all the way back to when i was in 6th grade up till present day so that was definitely interesting to revisit. i think im a different person now but i think the ai succeeded in interviewing me :v

#SMEno1fav (question) When the lights hit you during a solo, and you refused to look up—what did you focus on instead? The lip plate against your mouth? The conductor’s left hand? A crack in the stage floor?

(1/2) i think silence is very important in scenarios like the audio we got. the phrase "silence is loud" is a very much real statement and we dont realize how uncomfortable in the quiet we are until we focus on the emptiness. our voices fog this emptiness tho and comfort us #atmospherestudy
