I learned some pottery. Made some plates and painted them with underglaze. A few steps to go, but I’m happy with them so far.

I can't stand the feeling of felt so the autism crafting gloves are on. Turns out the finger print reader on my cellphone works even with my hand protection equipped.

I washed the bed frame I am currently flipping and YouTube suggested I tag my video with 'witchcraft'. 🥲

I learned two new techniques for customizing 3D models: cutting the model and dropping it through the build plate in the slicer software.

Even the fortune cookie can sense your autism but it wants you to feel ok about it.

My locksport club met up for the second time last night. We
spent the evening trying shims and trying out picks we haven't used before. Looking forward to the next meetup I'm planning for August!

The Jumperless probe has some of the most interesting engineering solutions I've seen in a soldering kit.

Unboxed my Jumperless from @architeuthisflux.bsky.social recently. It's absolutely beautiful and packaged so well. You can read about my unboxing experience on Patreon: www.patreon.com/posts/132126.... (The article is open-access)

Hosted my first locksport meetup in Kitchener-Waterloo last night. Each of the three folks completely new to locksport picked their first locks and I couldn't have been more proud of them!

Since the last update on my 2025 goal bingo sheet, I have performed in an aerial show, reviewed a lot more CFP submissions, and entered a 3D model design contest. It's frustratingly slow going lately, but that's because I am making incremental progress on some of the bigger goals.

Drew a new digital background for you all based on the artwork of a friend. This is the first time I have actually finished drawing a repeated shapes background! It really did feel more and more fulfilling as the drawing got closer to completed.

All week I've been designing electronic tea light candle holders for a gothic photoshoot I'm putting together. I wasn't able to find the props I wanted so I am making them myself. Each candle holder in the photoshoot will be unique.

Created a voronoi candle holder. It still needs some finishing touches, like sanding and maybe some painting, to be complete but I'm really happy with the shape and design. It is 50 mm tall, 65 mm wide, and holds a 45mm by 45 mm electronic candle.

I made some earrings!
April 14, 2025 at 8:52 PM
I've 3D modeled and printed my first set of earrings. I'm planning a bunch of experiments starting with this base model; I plan to print more of these bare earrings and cover them in rhinestones, wire wrap them, add LEDs, wrap them in fabric, and try all sorts of other treatments.

Tried to 3D print earrings on a holo plate and it was a disaster. I've tried to fix stringing and quality issues by turning up plate heat and adjusting first layer print speed and height. Attempts have not improved outcomes yet. Experiments continue.

Finished my goal to 'make a project to bring to conferences' with the star lamp I created. I don't have many conferences lined up for this year, but I'm excited to bring the star to any hardware and art conferences I make the trek to.

Had some old secondhand filament fail on me. It broke in multiple places in the PTFE tubing between the AMS and extruder in the printer tool head. To fix the issue I disconnected a lot of the PTFE tubing, pulled out the plastic that I could, and shook the rest of the tubing until plastic flew out.
