I want to point out that this is your reaction to anyone not immediately and gushingly agreeing with you that the dicks on Blueskt are mostly tankies.

I assume you don't talk to people in real life like this. If you want to cultivate respectful discourse on Bluesky, consider setting the tone yrslf

I'm old enough to remember when tankie on the internet meant a communist who unironically thought Stalin and the Soviet Union did nothing wrong, and broadly supported authoritarian state policy to achieve socialist goals. I haven't really seen many of them here, so I presume you mean something else

I'm glad you feel that way.

Simply that not every dick on the Internet is a 'tankie'. Dicks come in a rainbow of varieties.

I think we should expect Harris to visit Minneapolis before we expect her to convince others to visit Minneapolis.

Brady retired, and they just sucked for several years, how can you still hate the Patriots?

There are definitely people who want the Democratic party to pick a program that Liz Cheney would feel comfortable getting on board with. I think the influence of those people is widely exaggerated, but they definitely exist.

There are also people who rage about any criticism of the Democratic party. As if it's not possible to vote for a party and still demand it be better than it is.

I just had a first run-in with a lot of very angry Dem zealots for daring to say whoever Democrats run in 2028 shouldnt have been involved in obfuscating Biden's cognitive issues during the campaign, and that it was a fact that Biden circa 2024 was not the same as Biden circa 2020.

Republicans in New Hampshire are currently advancing two bills which would allow landlords to evict anyone 'not lawfully present' in the United States, and make it a felony for undocumented immigrants to not affirmatively disclose to their landlords if they are undocumented.

I know it's much more comforting to view the world in absolutist black and white, but it's possible for someone to vote for Harris and simultaneously feel the Democratic party failed to give her or any other candidate the best chance to prevent our current fascist hellscape.

Hot take: it's possible to simultaneously believe 2 people shouldn't be president, just as it's possible to feel one of those two people who shouldn't be president would cause more harm to the country.

Did you seriously just 'fake news' that voters felt misled about Biden's capacity to continue the job?
February 1, 2026 at 12:42 AM
Forgive me, but I would want my party to learn from its past mistakes.

It's not his stutter that concerned voters. We need to be honest about what the issue was; he repeatedly struggled to recall words, mixed up names and dates, all the regular signs of age-relates cognitive decline. And 6 months after the election it came out he was suffering advanced stage IV cancer.
