Nancy Campbell, tutor on a recent Arvon Foundation writing course I went on, introduced us to Staying with the trouble by Donna Harraway and I'm enjoying it very much so far and finding it helpful.

We said goodbye to our cat Esme yesterday (cancer) and I'm feeling very sad about that. We had a wonderful nine years together so there are lots of memories to look back on. But the house is very quiet today without her. Here is a picture from April 2017.

In 2000 we published a paper showing how well our climate model simulated past temperatures. We also included a future projection. Now when we compare observed temperatures to 2023 (in black) with the projection (red) it does remarkably well! Thanks to @garethsjones.bsky.social who updated the plot.
