Indeed, and conservatives starting to edge up, now neck and neck with Lab.

See the FT is continuing its "tourism journalism", commmenting on stuff they have stumbled on whilst at the G20.

Which of course they would never have dreamed of writing about otherwise.

Worth half a cheer?
November 27, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Still much higher than historical levels and way too high.

Parasocial - word of the year!

Apprenticeships are a better route than uni for many people. The New Labour obsession with sending everyone to uni was a mistake.

Just more proof that "the news" doesnt actually matter.

Also understand your point about growth. But again surely BAU 1.0 would mean increasing emissions, with emission intensity staying constant?
November 23, 2025 at 11:00 PM
Absolutely, we should beware exporting emissions. Im sure Ive read somewhere that ca 50% of the UK emissions reduction is down to exported emissions. But that still leaves a 50% genuine reduction.
November 23, 2025 at 10:58 PM
Many countries, like the UK, have significantly cut emissions. So I dont see how were following a "do nothing scenario".

How about a 28 point plan? Including fair elections in RU, ICC trial of war criminals, financial compensation, withdrawal from Transdniester, Abkhazia and South Ossetia and independence referendum for Kaliningrad, St Petersburg and Chechnya?

I heartily recommend SMWX youtube channel which has been covering this story blow by blow

Why not just kick US out of WTO? There are plenty of grounds.
November 22, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Depends how many sign. Need 100k for any real impact - that forces a debate in HoC and can lead to concrete changes.
November 22, 2025 at 6:04 PM
Signed. Reform UK should do an investigation into wider Russian links. And UK parliament should strengthen PPERA to ensure political parties have proper controls to stop this happening.

Four decades of centrism peddling the line that we can have high spending and low taxes. Only achieved through stealth taxes, green taxes, narrowing the tax base and slashing defence. The road has now run out.
November 22, 2025 at 5:57 PM
Intriguing. What woild a "radically rethought process" look like? Presumably more binding enforceable targets and less consensus?
November 22, 2025 at 5:55 PM
To argue that they "feel unsafe" because of someones views is just outrageous.
