Campaign to stop all new oil & gas extraction 📢 #StopRosebank #StopCambo Get involved: http://stopcambo.org.uk
Researchers called for deep, rapid and fair decarbonisation, alongside technological and social revolution.

The cost of inaction? A collapsing Atlantic current, winters of -20C, hotter summers and a UK that is 100% reliant on food imports.

Our response will shape the future.

Now that we have shut down this distraction, the UK government can get on with its real job: ending ALL new oil and gas and making sure no one gets left behind in the transition.

Public pressure works. We are moving in the right direction - now let’s push this to the finish line.

Put a serious just transition plan in place

The government has committed to considering workers, communities and supply chains in the transition. But the plans themselves are inadequate.

Reject Rosebank and stop ALL new drilling.

The commitment does not prevent fields that already have a licence - like Rosebank and Cambo - from being developed.

The fight against Rosebank is STILL on.
November 26, 2025 at 5:55 PM
But we need to be clear: these new commitments need to go even further to meet our climate goals and secure a fair future for workers.

The government must now address these critical gaps:

This extraordinary achievement belongs to the sustained, collective effort of thousands of you who made the case for this change.

Ending new licensing has been a key demand of our movement - including in the petition we submitted to the government with 1 million signatures.
November 26, 2025 at 5:55 PM
We are finally moving towards energy policy guided by public interest, away from oil and gas bosses ransacking the North Sea for profit.

This is a massive step forward and will keep many millions of barrels of oil and gas in the ground.
November 26, 2025 at 5:55 PM
The UK is now the first major oil and gas producer in the Global North to shift away from fossil fuels - the kind of leadership needed to drive a global phase-out.
November 26, 2025 at 5:55 PM
Wildfires and floods hit the most vulnerable first.

Firefighters are stretched to their limits, and cannot shield communities when the government fails to invest in protection.

Climate chaos is here and the government has left us exposed.

Campaigners point out Rosebank’s emissions would rival 28 of the world’s poorest countries combined and we already have more oil and gas than it is safe to burn.

Leaders need to reject Rosebank and deliver a fast, fair transition that protects people, not polluters.

Rosebank is majority owned by Equinor - Norway’s state-backed oil giant.

The company recently resubmitted an application to develop the field after its approval was overturned by the Scottish courts for failing to account for the enormous emissions from burning its oil.

Campaigners in Norway have today intervened in the felling of this year’s Trafalgar Square Christmas tree - the annual symbol of friendship between Norway and the UK - demanding that Prime Minister Keir Starmer pull the plug on the controversial Rosebank oil field for good.
November 21, 2025 at 4:46 PM
What's more, it could also funnel over £200 million towards Delek Group - an Israeli fuel conglomerate flagged by the UN for human rights violations in Palestine.

Unforgivable.

Now, this profiteering company is trying to lock us even further into more fossil fuels by developing Rosebank.

The Rosebank oil field WON'T take a penny off bills, or boost out energy security, but it WILL worsen the climate impacts we’re already feeling here and around the world.
